Key Purpose of Role: 

The electrical engineer will be at the forefront of shaping Thundergrid’s EV charging solutions. The role’s focus is on collaboration, problem-solving, and long-term sustainable solutions. The engineer must collaborate and problem solve client’s EV infrastructure needs and communicate about the electrical designs in a way that our team and client’s understand what needs to happen. The goal is to help clients make the transition to cleaner energy systems in a safe and practical way.

 

Technical Leadership

  • Providing technical expertise around EV infrastructure and guiding others in the team.

  • Develop detailed electrical designs for clients and projects.

  • Provide electrical engineering support on projects.

  • Review new charging products and their compliance documentation 

  • Deliver pre-sales technical specifications

  • Provide advice and guidance to clients, contractors and project teams in regards to electrical design and safety

  • Providing technical training and overview on new products and services

  • Trouble shooting technical issues as they arise.

  • Plan and document site cabling and power management requirements and designs.

R&D and testing of new EV charging hardware to check safety standards, lab test reports and head the creation of SDoC certification

Electrical Compliance 

  • Provide guidance on electrical compliance and international testing standards.

Development of local compliance documentation for new products.

 

Professional Experience : 

  • 3 years proven electrical engineering experience with building services or equivalent

  • AutoCAD or other software for developing single line diagrams

  • Experience with software/tools to determine electrical requirements

  • Knowledge and experience with AS/NZ standards and wiring rules

Strong communication skills - at all levels of the organisation and external stakeholders, with the written or spoken word.

 

Qualification & Additional Requirement 

  • Electrical Engineering Degree

  • Registered Electrician (desired)

  • Excellent problem solving and documentation skills.

  • Proactive “can do” attitude.

Effective listening, constructive advice, and the ability to understand others.
