Technical Implementation Engineer

We are looking for a Technical Implementation Engineer (TIE), who will be responsible for the delivery of the Company’s Gridstream Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Meter Data Management System (MDMS) solution to customers using a structured implementation & deployment project lifecycle whilst ensuring quality in our solution delivery.  Depending on project scope, the TIE may engage and facilitate in the Advanced Grid Analytics (AGA) solution delivery.


While working closely with a program deployment team, this role also evaluates client business processes, consults with clients on technical feasibility and integration of processes utilizing the AMI and MDMS solution, implements appropriate system configurations, features and services for optimal system and network performance, and validates system quality to achieve client acceptance and satisfaction.


This is a customer facing role and mainly based out of our Hong Kong Office.


What we are looking for
We are looking for an industry expert with experience in complex technical data systems and RF network technologies, Electric Utility Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Meter Data Management System (MDMS) solutions.


Specifically, you will have:
• A broad technical understanding of telecommunication, wireless and IT systems
• Experience in working with solutions involving both software and hardware
• Process definition and design experience to meet overall business objectives
• The ability to manage cross-functional highly technical project teams
• Problem solving, project management, teamwork, working in a diverse environment, communication and documentation skills
• Experience in IT service management and fulfillment of contract SLA/KPI
• Permitted electrical work in Hong Kong (Grace A of Certified of registration of Electrical worker by HKSAR EMSD) is an advantage


The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor or Advanced Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Product Management or related field, with at least 5-7 years’ experience working in technology within the Utility information systems, advanced metering infrastructure systems, power plant or industrial control systems.


You must have excellent leadership, customer service skills and have excellent oral communication and documentation skills, be a team player, self-starter, and able to work unsupervised in an environment driven by high standards for service.

What you will be responsible for
The position will be responsible for providing integral technical customer solutions.  The role reports to the Head of customer delivery and works closely and collaboratively with members of the Software Delivery team, Project & Program managers, and others to proactively plan and monitor project deployments and ongoing technical support as required by the contracts.


Specific areas of responsibility include:

• Working with customer requirements to propose technical solutions
• Leading and providing coaching to staff on the project team during the planning, development and execution of technical project implementations for Utility customers
• Acting as the primary technical and functional resource that collaborates with the client throughout a implementation and deployment project and partners with a customer to develop requirements and propose technical solutions
• Performing customer system integration planning and implementation
• Ensuring network, software, system and equipment configurations meets customer technical specifications
• Providing functional and operational enhancement recommendations into the New Product Introduction (NPI) process based on client feedback
• Directing & implementing new firmware, Device Control Word (DCW), and software releases with customer programs
• Establishes and monitors system performance reporting, recognizing adverse trends and taking necessary preventative and corrective actions
• Ensuring customer requirements are met and best of class service is delivered to our customer base
• Representing L+G in a positive, professional manner when working with both external and internal customers.
