Continuous Improvement Manager

The Continuous Improvement Manager will lead the design, development and implementation of the Lean Management strategy for the plant in Reynosa, Mexico. This role will deploy the appropriate Lean tools to drive meaningful improvements throughout the value stream.

The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for leading and teaching best Lean practices and tools and will establish, track, and publish KPI's to monitor the effectiveness of the Lean activities. This role is part of the local management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and processes in order to optimize results and improve quality of delivery

The Continuous Improvement Manager will ensure and control that the plant maintains Operational Excellence in its day-to-day operations on continuous improvement and efficiencies gains across the Company's products, systems, operations and processes.

This position reports to the Plant Manager in Reynosa.

  • Lead the development and execution of Lean strategies for the plant (5's / 7 wastes / tiered Management Process / Leader Standard Work etc.) to improve operational performance
  • Develop a robust and best practice Continuous Improvement program and procedures in partnership with the Management Team and key business stakeholders
  • Serve as the subject matter expert with respect to Lean practices and tools
  • Manange the Continues Improvement project list and coordinate cost reduction activities
  • Implementation of 5s and creation of Visual Management Factories
  • Report on progress of projects, understanding the risks, dependencies, budgets, resourcing, issues, and actions necessary to ensure success
  • Undertake business process analysis, statistical analysis for improvement projects, in order to support a wider change across the operations
  • Define, develop and publish business improvement process documentation to reflect best practices
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
  • Communicate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) from the company's annual plan sothat each employee is aware
  • Ensure relevant on-going learning and development of all employees in Lean improvement tools and communication methods
  • Staying up-to-date with developments in Continuous Improvement and Lean principles
  • Provide expertise, professional advice and guidance to the business, following proven industry practices and methodologies
  • Develop and build a culture of engagement at all levels of the business to provide a highly energized team which is flexible to meet the changing needs of the business
  • To work according of the I.M.S. (Integrated Management System) which includes ISO 9K, 18K, 14K, 27K, and 22301

Required Skills:

  • Expert proficiency in the use and implementation of Lean tools such as: Toyota Production System, Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six sigma, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, TAKT, Kanbans/Pull Systems, Single Piece Flow, Seven Wastes, 5S, Poke Yoke, PDCA
  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Track record of driving operational excellence, implementing significant improvements resulting in cost reductions
  • Strong prioritization, process improvement, and project management experience
  • High energy, data driven, and results oriented
  • Excellent change management skills, hands-on and results oriented with a fearless approach to work

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related (Lean Professional Path)
  • More than 5 years of work experience in Lean Management
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certified and Lean Certifications preferred
  • Must be able to flex hours to support 24/7 operations
  • English business fluency necessary
