Accounting Supervisor (Centre of Excellence, EMEA)

Landis+ Gyr Group Accounting & Controlling function is looking for a seasoned finance professional specialised and experienced in international finance, notably General Ledger (GL Accounting, Closing and Reporting) who will manage the team of Accountants providing GL and reporting services to the respective entities as well as support complex end-to-end process within General Ledger and Reporting. The role is associated with the Centre of Excellence based in Prague.

 

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Facilitate and ensure smoothe execution of the closing process, regular booking of accruals, prepayments, payroll, intercompany reconciliations, etc. as well as group financial reporting and accounts reconciliation
  • Lead a team and be responsible for coaching, motivating, recruiting and evaluation of the team members
  • Lead collaboration with key stakeholders, including senior level cross- the clients entities business colleagues (e.g. Cluster CFO), both accounting authorities/auditors and local entity/group financial reporting and accounting
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for related policies and processes, supports productivity objectives and continuous improvement, process changes and leading practices to have an efficient and effective process 
  • Drive and monitors improvements to sustain a highly effective and efficient accounting and reporting process, and realizes cost reduction opportunities including areas to harmonise and standardise processes 
  • Lead the measurement and delivery of service levels and SLA/KPI targets Manage day-to-day activities for General Ledger Accounting 
  • Actively lead and manages the period-end closing and reporting in accordance with laws and required group standards and instructions from EMEA Finance
  • Lead and manage the balance sheet account reconciliations of allocated accounts and ensures timely resolution and cleans of overdue items identified 
  • Proactively reviews accounts to ensure all financial transactions are valid and recorded to ensure accuracy of reported data
  • Manages and advises the business with projects providing accounting guidance/expertise  and harmonization of processes and work instructions between different legal entities.
  • Suggest improvements and take part in ensuring strong internal controls together with setting up and developing the process in SSC. 

 

We would like you to bring?

  • Prior experience in GL and/or Finance reporting (4 – 6 years of experience in Finance and extensive knowledge of SAP) in a senior capacity with at least two years of team supervison
  • Formal qualifications supporting your expertise in Finance (ideally an accounting degree)
  • Demonstrable leadership experience in service delivery model incl. leading, motivating and coaching team members (strongly desirable)
  • Strategic perspective and business acumen
  • Flexible personality with high adaptability to changing environment (managing diversity)
  • Ability to take initiative, responsibility and make decisions
  • People-oriented personality who can listen actively and inspire others
  • Strong engagement in the project and process improvements
  • Confident communicator (both written and verbal)
