Logistics Analyst

Position Summary

The Logistics Analyst is responsible for collecting, interpreting, and analyzing various types of logistics data including availability of product, reliability of transport and delivery, and other data related to product supply chain management, sourcing, and distribution. Maintains database(s) of logistics information.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing and implementing plans to improve logistics efficiency while reducing transportation expenses to include international inbound/outbound shipments. 
  • Responsible for creating and implementing project plans to improve warehouse efficiency through the establishments of standard operating procedures and recommending company policy for warehouse operations.  
  • Actively participate in developing processes/procedures to improve how safety stock is managed and used to reduce inventory expenses, reduce lead times, and improve customer service.  
  • Responsible for maintaining the following KPI's: Inventory Turns, Shipping Expenses, Inventory by Value, Warehouse Efficiency, Stock Outs, and On-Time Delivery
  • Lead special logistical projects that focus on critical customer timelines and short product lead times to exceed customer expectations and increase market share through logistical advantages.
  • Assist with SAP transactions for safety stock requisitions for field programs as needed.
  • Tracks product flow from origin to delivery via web-based logistics systems and other appropriate methods of monitoring inventory and shipment vehicles.
  • Reviews logistics processes and procedures; identifies, recommends, and implements improvements to maximize delivery efficiency while minimizing costs.
  • Reviews and analyzes transportation costs, parts procurement and delivery processes, inventory issues such as back orders, and other fulfillment metrics.
  • Uses analytic methods and tools to understand, predict, and/or control logistics operations and processes.
  • Monitors warehouse facilities to evaluate inventory transactions such as receiving, storage, shipping, and inventory integrity.
  • Contribute to the management of continuous improvement projects.
  • Support and adhere to Company’s Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy, Company’s Quality Processes. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required. 

 

Education and Experience

  • Required Minimum Level of Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Desired Education/Experience: 1-2 years of experience in Logistics or Supply Chain related fields.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of shipping and distribution channels
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Cognos, Power BI and transportation management systems
