Overall Objective:
To provide a test and analysis support service releated to new product development and continuous improvement activities with R&D

Key Performance Indicators:
• Work alongside SW/HW and Mechanical development teams as an integrated part of new product delivery process
• Plan equipment and resources to support product development and product improvement projects
• Identify skills/manpower/equipment shortages and address in line with agreed budgets
• To offer advice and test capability for software, electronic and mechanical component approvals
• Be aware of all regulatory requirements for Gas metering products, and to provide advice on implications to new product development testing
• Establish test automation strategy for Gas Meter products, implement and maintain
• Establish and maintain test capability for Gas-Meter communications landscape
• Establish and maintain appropriate test metrics for each project
• Maintain a full understanding of best practice test and analysis methods for demonstrating product reliability
• Schedule Compliance & Budget Compliance (actual@M70 against plan@M20)
• Requirements Fulfilment (M70 versus M20)
• Number of severe non-conformities per product post M70
• Number of non-severe non-conformities (= fix in follow-up project/improvement needed) per product post M70

• Responsible for the adherence of Landis+Gyr’s End User IT Security policy and Baseline IT Security policy. Report any IT related security incidents as outlined in the appropriate IT Security policy.

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks:
• To work with project teams to identify, conduct and report necessary tests to verify the performance of products.o
• To build and test Printed Circuit Boards (PCB's) for new or existing pnducts.
• To assemble and test new or existing products.
• To carry-out electrical, mechanical and environmental tests including specified type tests on any product either in production or development.
• To record and report findings in a formalized reporting style (including log-book or log sheets) which may also include illustrations and graphs.
• To prepare and carry out tests on design changes to current products, making recommendations as appropriate.
• To visit suppers of services or goods to discuss the adequacy, safety and quality of such services or goods.
• To organize testing at external test houses where facilities are not available within Landis+Gyr.
• To design, docurnent and build small test equipment for the use of the departnent or company as a whole.
• To carry-out where necessary the job of testing finished products as detailed in tie appropriate inspection or quality plan.
• To help ensure he laboratory areas are kept tidy in line with Health and Safety requirements.

Professional experience:
• Previous experience in an R&D role within embedded SW/ electronic / mechatronic industry
• Experience of testing software-driven electro-mechanical products.
• Experience of techniques such as HALT/HASS, DFMEA and reliability calculations
• Understanding of Product Development Processes
• Experience of management of System and Integration Testing, and Acceptance Testing phases (from both a supplier and customer perspective)
Project experience:
• Experience in product development lifecycle
Intercultural experience:
• Experience within a multi-national/cultural environment
Person Specification / Qualifications:
• Desirable: Engineering degree or equivalent in electronics engineering, Physics, Computer Science or similar
• Hands on approach to product development
• Competent report writer capable of aligning theory with practice
• Able to interpret engineering diagrams, build and test products according to specifications with reference to colleagues
• Able to work to high standards of quality and precision
• Be computer literate in Microsoft Word and Excel to an intermediate level.
• Posses a good standard of both written and spoken English
• Ability to work alone with minimal supervision.
• Willing to travel internationally.

Pay is in the range of $90,099 - $113,949 per year. The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
