Engineer II, Digital Signal Processing

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead in the design, analysis, and development of digital signal processing algorithms.
  • Research, specify design, code, and test firmware for new products.
  • Existing product repair and enhancement resulting from customer feedback or other issues.
  • Creation of tools to assist in performing main duties (testing, debugging, designing, programming, etc.).
  • Technical support resource for present and past meter functionality
  • Creation of technical documentation.
  • Supports and adheres to the Company’s core values.
  • Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required.

 

 

Education and Experience:

  •  A bachelor’s degree is required from an accredited university preferably in the field of Engineering (Electrical or Computer) or Computer Science. 
  • 5+ years of Digital signal processing (DSP) experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering field required. 
  • Experience with C, C++, Embedded FW, and good programming skills.
  • Experience with Embedded RTOS (Real Time Operating System), SPI, I2C, and UART is a plus.
  • Experience with unit testing and test automation.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic Electrical Engineering knowledge.
  • Metering Industry knowledge.
  • Knowledge and ability to optimize code to meet embedded constraints (RAM, ROM, and processor time).
  • Ability to understand and utilize component (i.e. non-volatile memory devices, microcontrollers, DSPs) datasheets effectively, and write corresponding firmware.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Use of emulators, oscilloscopes, and various other testing equipment
  • Ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Technical writing abilities.
  • Excellent listening skills and ability to understand information and ideas presented through spoken words including technical data.
  • Ability to recognize potential problems and take proactive measures.
  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • Must have proficient multitasking, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Computer skills including C and Assembly Programming, debugging, scripting programming languages, various software packages such as revision control and issue tracking, and Microsoft Office familiarity.

Pay is in the range of $67,100- $100,287 per year.  The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus.  The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.  All candidates are encouraged to apply.
