Firmware Engineer II - Smart Energy

We're seeking a passionate and dynamic Firmware Engineer to join our innovative team and ignite the next wave of advancements in the metering, DERMS, EV, and Smart Energy industries. As an essential member of our team, you'll dive into cutting-edge projects, tackle exciting challenges, and revolutionize the way electricity is measured and managed.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • New Product Development: Design innovative products for the energy industry, shaping solutions to the energy crisis. Beyond traditional meters, innovate smarter consumption avenues.
  • Repair and Enhancement: Lead the enhancement of existing products based on customer feedback, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues to ensure peak performance.
  • Tool Creation: Develop robust tools that streamline testing, debugging, designing, and programming, empowering our team to work more efficiently.
  • Technical Support: Serve as the primary resource for understanding current and past meter functionality, ensuring smooth operations and seamless troubleshooting.
  • Flexibility: Embrace new challenges and responsibilities as they arise, keeping the innovation engine running at full throttle.



  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, with a solid foundation in electrical engineering principles.
  • Experience: At least three years of engineering experience, focusing on embedded software development.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in C and C++, debugging, and scripting languages.
  • Industry Knowledge: Expertise in the metering industry, bringing forward-thinking solutions to the table.
  • Optimization Wizardry: Skilled in optimizing code to meet embedded constraints, ensuring efficiency without compromising performance.
  • Testing Proficiency: Extensive experience with unit testing and test automation to ensure flawless execution.
  • Equipment Mastery: Proficiency with emulators, oscilloscopes, and various testing equipment to ensure precision in every design.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, building strong relationships and communicating effectively with teammates and stakeholders. Professional documentation skills.

Pay is in the range of $67,100- $100,287 per year.  The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus.  The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.  All candidates are encouraged to apply.
