This role is part of Landis+Gyr’s EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) business, which is expected to become an independent company under new ownership by mid-2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals. For our EMEA Software, Solutions and Services function, we are looking for a technically skilled Systems and DevOps (Software) Engineer to join a small, flexible and agile team based in Prague, Katowice and Warsaw focused on continuous technical support and service delivery to our customers in Europe as well as worldwide. This role is primarily based in Katowice, Poland, with alternative location in Prague or Ostrava, Czech Republic.
As an Engineer, you will suport internal and external customers in accordance with Landis+Gyr’s Customer Service process and Customer Service Agreements for System Software and/or Device Products. You will also execute deployment of SW solutions into customer environments and customize products, applications, and their interfaces of the solution according to the project requirements.
Your future job:
Project implementation
- Provide technical expertise for clarification of E2E solution related functionality of the project scope
- Contribute in the specification phase to define scope and implementation according to customer specific requirements (SOW)
- Define Test plans and create test case descriptions as part of the project specification
- Setup and customize e2e solutions with special focus on the software applications level
- Ensure all needed interfaces integrated in time and quality
- Perform system tests according to test plan for SAT approval
- Support customer in execution of e2e use cases
- Trouble shooting of system and interface issues including reporting through SNOW tool
- Develop project related technical descriptions
- Contribute in the handover of the solution to the customer as well as internally
Maintenance & Support phase
- Responsible for providing high quality Level 2 customer service.
- Resolve known and unknown problems with the best ability, case escalation to L3 in case of required
- Provide information regarding customer incident for R&D (L3) to be able to initiate problem management
- Provide frequent information (documented) to cases where Responsible on case resolving or progress (OLA set)
- Verify setups and reproduce problems on reported customer cases
- Keep L1 informed of case progress and demands regular updates from L3
- Use remote access systems for investigation and troubleshooting on customer consent
- Provide work-around, technical notes and Knowledge Articles
- Provides additional information and sample devices for L3 by request
- Deliver contracted add-on / ad-hoc / professional services
- Providing 24/7 customer service for contracted customers (if agreed in contract)
- Responsible for implementation of Services in After Sales phase (post Roll Out)
- Represent Company in a positive, professional manner when working with both external and internal customers
About You:
- You possess a technical degree/education, e.g. Technician, BSc or equivalent.
- You have at least 4 years’ experience working on the software engineering or technical services and support, and desirably in the Build Management / Release Management /
- Extensions Development / SW Solutions implementation in Customer environment.
- Experience in General Device technology knowledge, Solution Application know-how, knowledge in Network & connectivity
- Experience in Data Securit, IT & Software (Cloud, DB, AppSrv, Windows Server)
- Knowledge of Oracle products
- Experience with Dev&Script Tools (.NET, Gitlab, Python, Shell Scripting)
- Knowledge of Cloud technology
- Experience with Linux (RHEL, SUSE), Windows Server 2012+ as well as Device knowledge
- Good communication skills with customer focus and motivation as well as ability to solve problems effectively
- Good level of English
