Job Title:  Manufacturing Quality Manager

 

Job Summary

Purpose and Objective:

The Manufactuing Quality Manager directs/manages:

  • Driving the manufacturing and the entire location for capable production processes and best in class results on Quality, Environment, Health and Safety
  • Leads Quality objectives to support the introduction and ongoing support of new products introduced to the production facility
  • Represents Product Safety – as a Manufacturing Quality Representative
  • Facilitates Stop delivery or production in case of safety risks and/or failures with high exposure through CAPA facilitation and leadership
  • Support and/or Lead the development, planning, implementation and maintenance of the integrated management system (IMS) including Quality, Environment, Health and Safety Systems across the entire organization in (DEFINE MANUFACTURING LOCATION)
  • (If applicable) take the accountability for the ISO17025 certified laboratory as specified in the ISO norm as well as specified from the regulatory bodies

 

Serve as Quality Lead to effectively and continuously improve the performance and the level of maturity across all functions and locations of the mentioned organization.

 

Key Performance Indicators:

Drive the organization to achieve all production and product quality relevant KPIs
Manage the following processes and associated KPI’s:

  • Non-conformance costs (NCC), Field failure rate in ppm, CAPA closure time (TAT))
  • Production Defect Rates and applicable KPI’s
  • Alignment with Supplier Quality function to address defect trends and continuously improve the delivered quality from suppliers.
  • PQP (production quality plan) and PPAP delivery and sign-off
  • Continuous evidence of active PFMEA and Control Plan management across product lines.

 

All required ISO certificates in the mentioned location are achieved and maintained in time and with the minimum possible amount of non conformances.

Support/Lead as applicable - All planned and agreed internal and external audits with respect to the QEHS management system are performed on time, as planned.

Facilitate/Lead root cause investigations and the corrective/preventative actions related to Manufacturing Quality items found during audits.

Participate, in all planned internal trainings to the QEHS requirements, behavior and improving the organization's maturity are performed as planned and agreed for the Manufacturing Quality Organization.

 

Core Areas of Responsibility/ Accountability:

 

  • Drive the implementation of quality tools and techniques (such as Six-Sigma, P-FMEA, DMAIC, SPC, pareto analysis, Ishikawa diagrams, 8D, CAPA, SCAR) for solving problems and continuously improve the manufacturing processes output and to reduce the non conformance costs (NCC).
  • Conduct ISO or VDA based audits, safety audits, reports findings and assists, tracks actions related to the implementation of the corrective measures
  • Support the delivery of all the internal PQP, Quality Plans, PPAP requirements of NPI projects.
  • Lead the Manufacturing Quality Team to create and sign-off all internal PPAPs, authorizing the release of parts and processes to the required quality and quantity.
  • Work closely with all external and internal stakeholders to influence product and process robustness.
  • Utilizes the Corrective/Preventative Action system in conjunction with the Supplier Corrective Action System to ensure quality issues are managed and communicated at the appropriate management levels.
  • Continuous Improvement  Project Identification and Implementation; for product and manufacturing process improvements.
  • Work seamlessly with Supplier Quality to develop suppliers accordingly to improve our incoming quality, if needed trigger escalation process.
  • Hires, manages and educates staff in Quality Principles and practices.
  • Serves as a functional leader for Regional and Corporate Quality Initiatives pertaining to product and process quality within the manufacturing environment and to the end customers.
  • Trains and supports PPAP and statistical process control for Manufacturing and Test activities.
  • Train for the effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel in carrying out best practices relating to quality, health & safety requirements and environmental conditions.
  • Lead the Quality Team and QEHS function (as required) in the plant and develop the team to high performance.
  • Leads the Manufacturing Quality Team in supporting applicable Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
  • Create reports and KPIs to monitor the achievement against commitments and objectives. Lead formal efforts to communicate performance results at required intervals (i.e. Quality Review Boards, CEO Reports etc.)

 

Where Responsible for the QEHS function in the Manufacturing Facility(s) the following applies:

  • Responsible for all the matters related to the management system (ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO17025, ISO10012, ISO22301 (pick the relevant ones) ) on behalf of the top management, ensure the management system continues efficiently.
  • Report and investigate all QEHS - incidents, and advise how to prevent similar incidents in the future
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis of incidents and other defects and ensure the 8D approach is used, so that immediate containment and permanent corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner, take care to prevent re-occurrence.

Required Experience

  • Required Minimum Years of Experience: 7+ to 10
  • Highly experience in a quality related role within a manufacturing company
  • VDA 6.3 or ISO 9001 Auditor with proven process auditing skills
  • Advanced skills in applying Lean, Six-Sigma, DMAIC, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, 8D, CAPA, SCAR
  • Fully conversant with Management Systems, preferably ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 17025
  • Good understanding of process mapping, evaluation and control
  • (Control Plans, SPC, Process Capability, Measurement Systems Analysis, Gauge R&R).

 

Educational / Professional or Vocational Qualifications

  • Required Minimum Level of Education: Bachelor, Master preferred
  • Degree in Engineering Discipline (prefer mechanical, electrical or Industrial Engineering)
  • Certified ISO and / or VDA auditor
  • Six-Sigma Green Belt (Black Belt Preferred)
