For our Global Legal & Compliance Team, located at our headquarters in Cham, near Zurich, Switzerland, we are seeking a highly motivated Legal Counsel (100%). In this exciting and dynamic role, you will report directly to the Group General Counsel and provide a wide range of legal support to senior management, business partners, and various teams within the Landis+Gyr Group.

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

 

  • Provide legal counsel and advice to senior management and business partners on a variety of legal issues, including contract status, legal risks, and compliance.
  • Support the Group General Counsel in corporate law activities and topics, including corporate secretary support, AGM matters, and capital market law, while ensuring corporate housekeeping.
  • Advise and support the management of the Group on tender projects, other commercial legal topics, litigations, and strategic projects such as M&A initiatives.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate internal and external contracts and documentation, providing legal support and guidance for tenders.
  • Ensure compliance with stock exchange listing obligations, including corporate governance and ongoing reporting requirements.
  • Provide legal support in dispute resolution, manage external legal counsel where needed, and ensure cost control for external legal services.
  • Assist with the development of legal templates and documentation and proactively draft policies and procedures to enhance legal and compliance understanding across the organization.
  • Support non-legal functions with legal training and assist with various Group projects, including those related to ESG commitments and compliance.

 

This position requires the following skills and experience:

 

  • A law degree (e.g., Master of Laws or an equivalent local qualification), with a postgraduate degree preferred.
  • A qualified lawyer with a minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • At least 2 years of in-house experience, preferably within a publicly listed company or a globally structured organization.
  • A strong understanding of commercial and corporate law, particularly related to corporate governance and capital markets.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiating, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues to non-legal colleagues.
  • A proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines in a cross-cultural and multi-jurisdictional environment.
  • Fluent English is required; knowledge of German is a plus.
