Job Summary
Landis+Gyr is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Strategic Solutions Architect Technologist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be a key technical leader, driving the successful adoption of our innovative smart grid solutions with strategic customers. You will leverage your deep technical knowledge and industry insights to define the technical architecture for new solutions and support complex customer engagements. You will work closely with Product Management to understand customer use cases, develop compelling technical pre-sales materials, and contribute to the evolution of our technology and partnerships. This role requires a strong understanding of smart grid technologies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
• Solution Design and Architecture: Define the technical architecture for new Landis+Gyr solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with industry best practices and customer needs. This includes system architecture diagrams, data flows, and integration specifications.
• Technical Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the primary technical subject matter expert for complex customer engagements, particularly those involving new Landis+Gyr solutions or emerging technologies. Provide in-depth technical guidance and support to Technical Sales and account teams.
• Collaboration with Product Management: Work closely with Product Managers and Practice Directors to understand customer use cases, market requirements, and translate them into robust technical architectures and solution designs. Provide technical input into product roadmaps and feature prioritization.
• Pre-sales Enablement: Develop and maintain high-value technical presales enablement materials, including white papers, reference architectures, solution briefs, and compelling demo scripts, to effectively communicate the value proposition of Landis+Gyr's offerings.
• Technical Gap Analysis: Conduct thorough technical gap analysis on customer requirements, identifying areas where Landis+Gyr's solutions meet or need to be adapted to specific customer needs. Clearly articulate technical requirements and potential solutions.
• Strategic Industry Alliances and Technology Standards: Actively participate in strategic industry alliances and technology standards organizations, staying abreast of the latest trends and contributing to Landis+Gyr's strategic direction.
• Field Pilot and Proof of Concept (PoC) Support: Provide technical oversight and support as needed for field pilots and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) at strategic accounts, ensuring successful implementation and demonstrating the value of Landis+Gyr's solutions in real-world environments.
• Knowledge Sharing: Develop and deliver technical training and presentations to internal teams and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a technical role within the smart grid, energy, or telecommunications industry, with a strong focus on solution architecture and design.
• Deep understanding of smart grid technologies, including AMI, grid automation, DER integration, communication technologies (e.g., cellular, RF mesh), and relevant industry standards (e.g., IEEE, ANSI).
• Proven ability to define and document complex solution architectures.
• Excellent understanding of customer use cases and the ability to translate them into technical requirements.
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with product management and other cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise language for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Experience with pre-sales activities, including developing technical presentations and demonstrations.
• Familiarity with software development methodologies and cloud technologies is a plus.
• Ability to travel as needed (10-20%)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with Landis+Gyr products and solutions.
• Participation in industry standards bodies or technical working groups.
• Experience with IoT platforms and data analytics in the energy sector.

Pay is in the range of $124,515 - $165,515 per year. The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
