Senior Engineer- Firmware

Responsibilities: Firmware development for an embedded system and development using real-time operating systems. Develop and maintain firmware for GridStream endpoint and network devices. Design, develop, document, and test I/O communications and device drivers. Design, develop, and test operating systems-level software and contribute to the development of product design specifications, including functional requirements, use cases, detailed designs, interfaces, and test plans. Contribute to design verification testing processes and procedures and assist with planning and supporting field installations of alpha and beta phases for systems. Provide customer field firmware support for new and existing network products. Contribute to design and code reviews and contribute to product and system-level test efforts. Design industry standard interfaces and apply knowledge of the product lifecycle, software development methodologies, and programming and assembly languages to develop systems and analyze software requirements.

Salary: $142,000/year

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field and five years of experience in the job offered or five years of embedded software development. Experience must include five years each of the following: programming C, C++, Assembly languages, or C#; development using Real-time operating systems; debugging tools in an embedded system; Product Life Cycle and Software Development methodologies; RAM/Flash memories; protocol stack such as Zigbee (802.15.4), IP, or C12.22. Experience must include three years each of the following: interfacing to serial ports, A/D and D/A converters; firmware development; security encryption; and packet-based networks. Experience may be gained concurrently.
