Position Summary
As a Product Manager in the company this individual will be responsible to lead the Life cycle of their assigned products. Including lifecycle activities such as authoring Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), prioritization of sustainment activities, managing Investment Plan (PIP) and New Product Introduction (NPI) process for assigned products. This individual will work closely with our clients and must demonstrate distinct functional and professional knowledge to ensure that the work products and deliverables are of the highest caliber to guarantee customer satisfaction. This role will require close working collaboration with Product Portfolio, Engineering, Deployment, Sales and Marketing, and Global teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the complete product lifecycle of the assigned products
• Contributes to Landis+Gyr’s New Product Introduction (NPI) process. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Interprets customer requirements and translates to clear product requirements and use cases in PRDs
• Supports R&D feasibility/traceability reviews
• Works on complex business cases
• Works with Technical Training to develop Product Documentation and Training
• Works in partnership with Project Management Organization (PMO) to manage cost and timeline expectations
• Presents to Executive Project Governance Boards for stage gate reviews and Change Controls
• Work alongside cross functional teams to develop and execute the overall strategy for assigned products
• Works on assigned product dependencies and interrelationships to deliver a complete customer solution (hardware/software) rather than just a “Product”
• Independently manages strategic partnerships where appropriate
• Understands market research for addressing market and/or business needs for a product, including awareness of market trends and direction.
• Assists Subject Matter Expert for assigned products
• Develops customer communications (e.g. Customer Information Letters, Product Updates, Release Notes)
• Ensures all parts of the organization are properly educated on product feature/functionality
• Contributes to business reviews and planning sessions
• Supports Landis+Gyr’s quality processes
• Presents at industry events, internal sales meetings, Landis+Gyr’s Exchange, and customer specific meetings
• Represents Landis+Gyr in a positive, professional and enthusiastic manner when working with both external and internal customers
• Assists with the management of sustainment of existing product offerings
• Supports and adheres to Company’s core values.
• Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required.
• Supports and adheres to Company’s Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy.
• Represents Company in a positive, professional manner when working with both internal and external customers.
Education & Experience:
• Required Minimum Years of Experience: 2+ to 5
• Required Minimum Level of Education: Bachelors Degree; preferably in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field; Masters degree preferred
• Required/Desired Certifications: Formal Product Management training, such as Pragmatic Marketing, and/or New Product Introduction (NPI) process desired
• A combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Technical role experience related to the Product Segment being led.
• Prior experience on IoT, Smart Grid and/or Telecom companies are considered differential, as well as Embedded Software management.

• Thorough understanding of business fundamentals – roles of various departments in the organization: marketing, sales, economics, manufacturing, business management, engineering.

• Deep understanding of marketing concepts/market research
• Proven ability to facilitate groups and/or teams
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including experience in public speaking
• Organizational skills including prioritization, project management and resource deployment
• Ability to influence individuals and organizations not under a direct reporting relationship
• Proven leadership skills in mentoring and developing others
• Superior computer skills including Microsoft Office applications for word processing, spreadsheets and presentations
Business Relationships (Internal/External Customers):
• Regular contact with employees, external customers, and/or industry contacts
Working Conditions: Typical indoor office environment with the majority of time spent sitting and working on a computer using keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Occasional use of other devices such as: phone, copier/printer/fax, etc.
Driving Status: Will drive on business for the Company more than 6 times per year.
Physical Requirements: Typical office setting. Required to stand; walk; crouch; or handle objects. Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Ability to sit and view computer screen for long periods of time. Personal Protection Equipment/Other OHSAS-18001 Safety Requirements: Ensure the continued efforts and assist in achieving annual goals of health, safety, and environmental policies. Pay is in the range of $85,490 - $121,393 per year. The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
