Job Summary
This role combines Material Master Global Data Ownership and Local Data Ownership for United States, Mexico, Canada and Japan. As a Global Data Owner, you will be overall responsible for Data Governance and Quality of Material Master, by defining, implementing and maintaining its Master Data Governance and Quality principles, together with Global IT and the Local Data Owners. Landis+Gyr uses SAP as ERP and PLM systems. As a Local Data Owner of Material Master for US, MX, CAN and JPN, you will be responsible for the execution of the Master Data Governance and Quality principles, among the other tasks defined in the “Core Areas of Responsibility” section.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and maintain the required Material Master information on the Master Data Catalog created by Global IT.
- Incorporate the global Material Master Data processes into the organization’s Data Governance strategy.
- Deep understanding of relationships between Master Data Objects and the business needs it supports.
- Define the required Local Data Owners for Material Master per and entity / location and maintain this information on the Master Data Catalog Created by Global IT.
- Overall management of the related organization's Material Master Data Object in SAP. ·
- Ownership of the Material Master Data in US, MX, CAN and JPN (Local Data Ownership).
- Coordinate the work of the other Local Data Owners following the agreed tasks and deadlines.
- Identify and document the relevant Material Master Data Source Systems for US, MX, CAN and JPN.
- Define and maintain the Governance, Quality, Security and Compliance requirements of Material Master Data, following the templates created by Global IT, as well as identify and define integration requirements between applications, considering the needs of all Landis+Gyr entities / locations.
- Understand Data Compliance and industry regulations surrounding Material Master Data, from a global perspective.
- Populate and update the Data Model and MDM Tool design documentation of Material Master. ·
- Define a strategy to make Materials MDM an asset to the business and related tools (e.g. SAP ERP, PLM and IBP).
- Define the global Material Master Data clean-up requirements and ensure its execution with the required parties.
- Execute the required Material Master Data clean-up activities for US, MX, CAN and JPN.
- Collaborate on the implementation and improvements of the Master Data Management Tool defined by Landis+Gyr, together with Global IT and / or its implementation partner(s).
- Execute the assigned project and maintenance tasks following the agreed deadlines. Ensure that the processes related to the Data Objects are being executed according to the defined Governance, Quality, Security and Compliance requirements.
- Execute regular Data Quality audits within US, MX, CAN and JPN. ·
- Oversee business rules and ensure compliance across the organization.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced level of experience with SAP. 5+ years working directly in SAP role
- Basic Knowledge of SAP PLM and SAP IBP
- Expert level Material Master data and related Business Processes

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field. At least 5+ years of direct experience in Master data management.

Pay is in the range of $108,100 - $169,024 per year. The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
