Hardware Engineer II

The Hardware Engineer is involved with electronic product development, with responsibilities including design and verification of communication module, embedded system, and sensor node, and ownership of product engineer responsibilities and deliverables on projects throughout the development process

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Translate product requirements into electrical hardware design requirements.
  • Ciruict design including RF communication module, DC/DC power supply, analog, digital, and embedded system hardware.
  • Owns and direct creation of schematic, printed circuit board, and BOM with help from ECAD engineer.
  • Owns product eningeer responsibilities and deliverables throughtout new product introduction (NPI) process.
  • Develop and execute design verification test plan.   
  • Write product technical specifications and manufacturing test specifications.
  • Plan and execute compliances testing and certification, including FCC/IC, electrical safety, and intrinsic safety.
  • Support product verification/validation testing including manufacturing, HW qualifty, and system.
  • Provides technical direction to technicians and other engineers. 
  • May assume responsibility for exiting product enhancement and maintenance efforts.
  • Updates job skills through seminars, classes, and journals
  • Supports and adheres to Company’s core values.

  • Represents Company in a positive, professional manner when working with both internal and external customers.

 

Education and Experience

  •  Bachelors Degree required, preferrably Electrically Engineering or equivalent
  • 2 to 5 years of experience required

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient with use of lab equipment including o-scope, vector network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, signal generators.
  • Proficient with schematic reading.
  • Experience with capture tools and circuit simulation (SPICE) is highly desirable.
  • Have proficient hands-on experience with lab works including soldering.
  • Experience in ciruict design including RF communication module, DC/DC power supply, analog, digital, and embedded system hardware is highly desirable.
  • Experience in FCC compliance is highly desirable.
  • Experience in product development and manufacturing processes highly desirable.
  • Have proficient keyboard/typing and MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel) skills.
  • Have ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
