Engineer II- Software Development

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate with Software Architects, Systems Engineering, and Product Management to understand and implement requirements.
  • Create applications using C# or Java.
  • Work with teams in an Agile Scrum environment to build software in a rapid iterative way.
  • Respond quickly to changes in requirements.
  • Assist with testing software in a live environment.
  • Troubleshooting software and system
  • Contribute to component and/or solution design, development, documentation, and validation.
  • Work on agile development teams, collaborating with multiple cross-discipline architecture teams to develop hardware and software components as part of L+G Smart Grid solutions.
  • Participate in recruitment, development, and mentoring of junior engineers.
  • Contribute to area-specific continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to innovative technology and solutions development and/or validation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • OO Programming Concepts
  • Communication skills imperative
  • Experience with C#, ASP.NET, .NET Framework 4.5+
  • Experience using WCF, WPF, MSMQ, LINQ, XML, SOAP, MVC, Unity Framework, and Visual Studio Unit Test framework a plus.
  • Working experience of any scripting language (ex: Python, Shell script, Pearl Script etc)
  • Experience with performance monitoring tools like Nagios, Jarvis etc. is a Plus
  • Experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server
  • Tools: TFS 2017, Visual Studio 2017, Git
  • Experience with automation technologies (i.e... Selenium, Robot, or Python) a plus 
  • Experience with Linux a plus.
  • Knowledge of development processes, tools, and related frameworks.
  • Knowledge of relevant development and/or validation methodologies.
  • Knowledge of AMI and Smart Grid Systems and Solutions.
  • Advanced design, development, or validation skills in functional areas.
  • Ability to understand the code\feature base and deliver assigned improvements.
  • Ability to design well-organized code\testing methodologies.
  • Ability to complete\validate medium features with minimal oversight.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 1-5 years of experience in Software Engineering.
  • Experience with C#, ASP.NET, .NET Framework 3.5/4.5 C# or equivalent experience in other High-Level OO code base (Java, C++).

Pay is in the range of $61,700 - $100,287 per year.  The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus.  The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.  All candidates are encouraged to apply.
