Meter System Engineer

The Meter Systems Engineer (MSE) is responsible for supporting the technical application of all the Company products. The MSE serves as the field expert and liaison for smart grid metering. This position is responsible for meter and product training, meter configuration coordination and metering related trouble shooting and issue resolution.


Key Responsibilities:


•    Develops positive customer relationships through proactive customer management while providing guidance to customers in implementation, operation, training and problem resolution.
•    Interfaces with utilities, distributors, agents, deployment teams and managed service programs to ensure the utility custom requirements are obtained and configured into the manufacturing process.
•    Provides technical expertise and information to sales for customers and prospects on system configurations, use, operation and features with emphasis on “industry best practices” to maximize the value of Company solutions.
•    Provides detailed information and coordinates with internal Company support teams to resolve customer issues.
•    Develop understanding of product strengths and weaknesses as they pertain to market requirements.
•    Attends trade shows and regional metering schools to conduct technical presentations in large group session.
•    Maintains up-to-date awareness of industry activities, trends and regulatory issues.
•    Technically position Landis+Gyr for all products.
•    Contribute to development and delivery of technical sales presentations to prospective and/or existing customers.
•    Schedules and attends customer wellness visits.
•    Supports and adheres to Company’s core values.
•    Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required.
•    Supports and adheres to Company’s Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy.
•    Represents Company in a positive, professional manner when working with both internal and external customers.


Education & Experience:


•    Required Minimum Level of Education: Bachelor's Degree 
•    Required Minimum Years of Experience: 2+ to 5
•    Desired Education/Experience: 3 to 5 years successful performance in a customer service or technical support related position in an electronic technology related field including independent travel and customer contact. Four-year degree from an accredited college and/or university is preferred. Five years of proven technical sales and/or technical support position in the electrical industry. Experience with utility operations, AMR operations, is a plus. Must have excellent computer skills including the ability to utilize Excel, Word, Outlook and CRM systems. Bilingual French/English is not required but is extremely helpful.
•    Required/Desired Certifications: Must have a valid driver’s license


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:


•    General understanding of utilities and specific knowledge concerning utility distribution systems, power transformers, instrument transformers etc. 
•    Ability to develop and deliver technical presentations.
•    Individual must possess and demonstrate excellent customer relations skills, time management skills and ability to manage multiple daily tasks.
•    The ability to read, analyze and understand professional journals, technical manuals procedures and manuals.   
•    The ability to prepare reports business correspondence and procedure manuals.
•    Effective oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills.

Pay is in the range of $98,122 - $142,088 per year. The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
