Technical Project Manager, Hong Kong

We are looking for a Technical Project Manager, who will be responsible for the deployment and the operations of Landis+Gyr’s AMI solution, Meter Data Management System (MDMS) solution, and IT system while providing high quality network support services to customers in line with Maintenance and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).  You will be responsible for managing multi-disciplinary projects, in terms of project schedule, resources, quality, risks & issues, communications, and internal & customer status reporting. Depending on project scope, the Technical Project Manager may engage and lead in the Advanced Grid Analytics (AGA) project delivery.
While the position specialises in the network and IT system, you will also be required to build a working knowledge of the overall system functionality and specifically, understand how the network interacts with the head-end system supporting key features such as security, network and configuration upgrades, radio frequency (RF) packet broadcasting and packet routing. You will also be required to attend to field work when necessary.
This is a customer facing role and based out of our Hong Kong Office.
What we are looking for
We are looking for an industry expert with experience in telecommunication or wireless technologies, protocol RF and system solutions involving both software and hardware.  Specifically, you will have:


• A broad technical understanding of telecommunication, wireless, IT systems and security.
• Experience in project management working on large scale projects
• Strong skills in telecommunication signal measurement/testing tool. Network design experience in a plus
• Experience in the site survey, installation, maintenance and operation of devices in the utility sector
• Good understanding on IT service management practice and software development life cycle
• IT skills (database and programming/scripting) and system integration experience in a plus
• Problem solving, project management, teamwork, working in a diverse team environment, communication and documentation skills
• Permitted electrical work in Hong Kong (Grace A of Certified of registration of Electrical worker by HKSAR EMSD) is an advantage
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Product Management or related field, be a Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent, with at least 7 years’ experience working in technology or project management and 3 years in leading or being part of multi-disciplined project teams.
You must have excellent leadership, customer service skills and have excellent oral communication and documentation skills, be a team player, self-starter, and able to work unsupervised in an environment driven by high standards for service.
What you will be responsible for
The position will be responsible for managing the execution of key customer projects.  The role reports to the Head of customer delivery and works closely and collaboratively with the Sales Account Managers in the region.  Specific areas of responsibility include:
• Project management on multiple projects. Enhance and adhere to the Project Management Methodology, tools and templates
• Leading the technical services in the AMI system and network design, the system and equipment installation plan, ensuring network configurations are in line with customer technical requirements
• Providing technical and consultative support to the Sales Account Managers
• Interface with the customer in the execution of projects and services to ensure timely and accurate completion of contracted tasks
• Interface with the Landis+Gyr group, Landis+Gyr partners and suppliers and other Landis+Gyr business lines to achieve projects and service deliverables
• Establishing and monitoring network performance reporting, recognising adverse trends and taking necessary preventative and corrective actions
• Service fulfilment in terms of SLA/KPI and coordination in incident management with local team and global support
