Solutions Architect

The Solutions Architect oversees the architecture, security, design, and testing of the integrations & interoperability of software programs, vendor applications, and third-party solutions; these duties would include design of solutions in consultation with analysts, designers, and system owners of vendor application systems within public cloud as well as Private cloud infrastructure.

As the subject matter expert, the Solutions Architect must understand client requirements and how Landis+Gyr solution fits into these requirements. The ideal candidate will be business-focused, possess strong technical aptitude and excellent client-facing communication skills. Successful candidates will be able to bridge the gap between business and technology, manage client resources, drive technical solutions to timely completion, and identify, analyze, and extract key data from heterogeneous systems. This role works closely with a wide variety of customers from program managers to developers, business units within L+G and the customer’s team to generate solutions, and helps the customer understand the solution and its impact on business efficiencies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Consult with customers to scope, design, document, implement and deliver end to end solutions to use L+G’s Products to accomplish their business tasks.
  • Architect new solutions and deliver new services, which meet the needs of the customer and are beneficial to the Landis+Gyr’s Gridstream Solution in the public cloud as well as private infrastructure.
  • Work directly with customers to create solution designs and resolve any issues related to the solution.
  • Contribute to the Smart Grid Services culture by actively participating in the evolution of best practices, tools and processes.
  • Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of newly-integrated software programs and applications.
  • Support integration testing phase of software and applications under development in order to identify and remedy potential problem areas.
  • Build relationships with vendors of utility applications deployed in the Smart Grid Energy Services sector to learn about and provide feedback on their technical integration capabilities.
  • Ensure that integration projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues.
  • Develop standards, best practices, patterns and processes to support and facilitate integration projects and initiative
  • Ability to travel as needed (up to 50%)

Education & Experience

  • Required Minimum Level of Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Required Minimum Years of Experience: 2+ to 5



Desired Education/Experience: Utility industry and public cloud experience desired. Experience with Google Cloud Platform is a plus.


Required/Desired Certifications: Security, Network, Infrastructure related certifications. Public cloud provider certifications are a plus.
