The Senior Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement of direct materials that will secure the manufacturing operation. This role oversees purchasing activities, Interact and negotiate with suppliers, and collaborates closely with every cross-functional teams supporting the operation. The Senior Buyer monitors supplier performance, suggests strategic sourcing initiatives, and drives continuous improvement in the procurement process to support operational efficiency and business objectives.

Key Responsabilities

•    Manage the procurement of direct materials related to the operation.
•    Sustain relationships with reliable suppliers to optimize procurement performance and participates in their performance evaluation.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and coordinate purchases.
•    Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
•    Support strategic sourcing initiatives and continuous improvement in procurement processes.
•    Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier contracts, and procurement documentation.
•    Resolve supplier-related issues promptly to prevent disruptions in operations.
•    Identify material shortages and supply chain risks and implement mitigation plans.
•    Develop alternate sourcing strategies for critical materials.
•    Prepare management reports and recommendations.
•    Support product transitions, engineering changes, and supplier qualification activities.

Required Skills:

•    Strong knowledge of procurement processes, strategic sourcing, and supplier management.
•    Experience in negotiating prices, terms, and contracts with suppliers.
•    Ability to analyze supplier quotations and make cost-effective purchasing decisions.
•    Knowledge of inventory control, logistics, and supply chain management.
•    Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills for cross-functional collaboration.
•    Organizational skills and attention to detail for managing purchase orders and documentation.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/procurement software.
•    Problem-solving skills to identify supply risks and implement mitigation strategies.
•    Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes.
•    Strong analytical capabilities utilizing supplier and procurement metrics. 
•    Working knowledge of global supply chains, import/export processes, tariffs, and trade compliance.
•    Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.

Accountabilities:
•    Ensure timely procurement of direct materials to support uninterrupted operations.
•    Follow up on supplier compliance with quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
•    Support strategic sourcing initiatives and continuous improvement in procurement processes.
•    Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier communications.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize purchasing decisions and prevent supply disruptions.
•    Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
•    Maintain material availability levels to support production schedules.
•    Reduce supply chain risks through proactive supplier management and contingency planning. 
•    Support inventory optimization initiatives while maintaining service levels. 
•    Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and applicable regulatory requirements.

Required Experience:

•    Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
•    4–6 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supplier management, preferably in manufacturing environments.
•    Proven experience in negotiating contracts, evaluating suppliers, and managing purchase orders.
•    Knowledge of inventory control, logistics, and supply chain management.
•    Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software.
•    Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Production, Engineering, and Warehouse.
