Engineering Manager

As a core member of the Supply Chain Management & Operations Leadership in Reynosa, the Manager Technical Functions (TEF) will be responsible for planning and deploying all product development activities including new product introductions, cost optimization, technology integration, Software and Test Equipment teams, and life cycle product support.

The Manager TEF will work closely with Manufacturing, QA, Procurement, Logistics, and other cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of new products and changes. This role actively participates in the value stream organization to support product needs in terms of technical support for the process, capacity planning, equipment and toodling as well as providing resources and methods for the planning and installation of equipment.

This position reports to the Plant Manager in Reynosa.

In this role, the Manager TEF will:

  • Provide project management leadership for new product development projects including creating schedules, executing product development plans, and integrating the activities of cross-funcional team members
  • Able to translate related business needs into service and equipment specifications
  • Ensure industrialization of new products on time, cost and quality.
  • Responsible for developed test equipment, automatization, and software as well as calibration equipment and configuration software for meters and network products
  • Coordinate and manage Landis+Gyr NPI processes and tasks for New Product Integration
  • Development of Software as well as debug / troubleshoot the existing systems
  • Lead continous improvement process (CIP) activities in all TEF areas
  • Troubleshoot for mechanical, electrical & electronical problems as they arise, finding the root cause and effective solutions in order to permanently eliminate the issues
  • Develop standardized methodologies and procedures for new production launches
  • Gain holistic knowledge of the product, production processes, and manufacturing technologies to properly support new product launches
  • Create and lead a culture that contunually looks for operational improvements, optimizes work processes to gain efficiency, sets foals, and chieves cost cutting measures, and regularly conducts root cause analysis and process improvement for key quality and systemic operational issues
  • Drive change and results by championing operational excellence and performance initiatives to ensure alignment and successful execution to key business goals and objective
  • Lead, motivate, and develop an Engineering team on an ongoing basis, and provide feddback and coaching to drive practices and processes and overall company performance
  • To work according of the I.M.S. (Integrated Management System) which includes ISO 9K, 18K, 14K, 27K, and 22301

Required Technical Skills:

  • Experience with process development/qualification, new product development and lean manufacturing
  • Require vast experience in formulating requirements and RFQs (Request for Quotes) towards potential suppliers and be able to trace their output and quality of the results
  • Demonstrated experience driving the factory Automation
  • Possess knowledge and experience across multiple functions within product design and manufacturing
  • Through knowledge of Manufacturing principles and Software development methodologies
  • Effrective applied knowledge of machining practices and procedures, and a broad knowledge of basic engineering principles as they apply
  • Track record of driving operational excellence, implementing significant improvements resulting in cost reductions
  • Demostrated ability to manage multiple projects

Educational / professional qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree (Electrical, Mechatronic or Industrial) Engineering or a related field required
  • Track record of working in global organizations with more than 15 years of work experience as a senior leader in various manufacturing/technical functions (Electronic Design, Test Equipment, Automatization Software/Firmware Development, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Project Management and IT Services)
  • English business fluency necessary
