Import & Export Specialist

The Import-Export Specialist is responsible for managing and supervising the company's foreign trade operations, ensuring compliance with Mexican customs and foreign trade legislation. This includes the review, control and validation of the necessary documentation for imports and exports of production material, machinery and equipment, ensuring that the processes are accurate, timely and in compliance with current regulations.

In this role, the Import & Export Specialist will:

•    Manage and maintain updated Annex 24, as well as the documentation of invoices, pedimentos and certificates of origin for import and export operations.
•    Review and validate import and export invoices according to the different customs regimes, ensuring that the imported merchandise matches the BOMs and SAP records.
•    Control loading and unloading of pedimentos, verify merchandise balances (expiration dates) and raw material units of measure against SAP.
•    Coordinate the import and export of production material, machinery and equipment, including new products and exports of finished equipment.
•    Participate in the invoicing and follow-up of foreign trade operations, as well as in the administration of consolidated pedimentos and creation of R8 before VUCEM for import regimes.
•    Maintain constant communication with all areas of Landis+Gyr and carriers, ensuring compliance with the operations and objectives of the department.
•    Support in the participation and compliance with internal control programs, audits and Integrated Management System (IMS) guidelines, including ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 27001 and 22301.
•    Actively participate in the achievement of department goals and execute other assigned tasks as needed.

Required Skills:

•    Knowledge in foreign trade and customs operations, including Annex 24 and 30, as well as international traffic coordination.
•    Experience in the management of permits and authorizations before governmental agencies related to import and export.
•    Handling of foreign trade systems, preferably Vastera and VUCEM, as well as official pages of the customs authority.
•    Knowledge of Integrated Management System (IMS), including ISO standards: 9001, 14001, 45001 (OSHAS 18001), 27001 and 22301.
•    Knowledge in ESD control and handling of safety processes associated with imported/exported materials and equipment.
•    Advanced level of English (approx. 90%), sufficient to communicate with suppliers and international authorities.
•    Effective communication, leadership, teamwork and decision making skills.
•    Proactivity, initiative, responsibility and willingness to solve problems and propose improvements.
•    Ability to adapt to changes and new processes, maintaining efficiency in operations.
•    Proficiency in Vastera, VUCEM and Annex 24 systems for control and monitoring of operations.
•    Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting, analysis and document tracking.

Required Experience:

•    Professional degree in Administration, Foreign Trade, Economics, Accounting or related careers.
•    Complementary training in foreign trade, logistics or customs will be valued.
•    Minimum 2 years of experience in Import-Export operations, or in a similar position within the manufacturing industry.
•    Up to date knowledge of customs laws, regulations and procedures applicable to imports and exports.
•    Experience in document management, permits, certificates of origin and coordination with customs authorities.
•    Proficiency in foreign trade systems, preferably Vastera and VUCEM, as well as inventory tracking tools and BOMs in ERP (SAP).
