About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Firmware Quality Assurance (FWQA) Engineer to join our embedded systems team. In this role, you will be responsible for validating the reliability, performance, and functionality of embedded firmware and applications, with a focus on networking protocol testing and automation.

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks:

• Perform manual and automated testing of embedded firmware and networking protocols, such as IPv4/v6, ICMP, ARP, TCP/UDP, L2/L3, Zigbee, IEEE802.15.4, Wifi, Radius server Security (8021.x), ANSI, DLMS, etc.
• Use tools such as Wireshark or packet generating tools for stress or load testing, and analyze network traffic and performance.
• Create and execute test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test reports, based on requirements, specifications, and user stories.
• Identify, report, and track defects, and verify fixes and enhancements.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and other testers to ensure quality and functionality of the products.
• Maintain and update test environments, test data, test cases, and test scripts, according to changing requirements and standards.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for improvement of the products and the testing process. 

Desired Skills/Competencies

• Total Experience of 4 to 7 years out of which at least 3 years of experience in embedded / firmware testing and networking protocols testing
• Proficient in using tools such as Wireshark or packet generating tools for stress or load testing.
• Knowledge of any scripting language, such as Perl, Bash, Python, or TCL, Linux is a plus.
