This role is part of Landis+Gyr’s EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) business, which is expected to become an independent company under new ownership by mid-2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals. Role Purpose
The Financial Controller – EMEA is the dedicated Finance Business Partner to EMEA Procurement and IT, with end-to-end financial ownership of all procurement spend (direct and indirect) and IT expenditure across a multi-country European organisation.
The role focuses on financial governance, cost transparency, value realisation, and decision support in a product-led, technology-driven environment characterised by:
- Direct sourcing from the Far East
- Multiple manufacturing plants across Europe
- High IT spend (ERP, cloud infrastructure, licensing and tools)
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement Finance Ownership - end-to-end financial ownership of direct and indirect procurement spend across EMEA, acting as the finance business partner to Procurement Management.
2. Lead MPV/PPV governance, cost and variance analysis (pricing, volume and mix), and independent validation of procurement savings, ensuring transparent and accurate P&L reporting.
3. Lead planning, forecasting, commitment tracking, and variance analysis for procurement and Far East sourcing, ensuring clear visibility versus budget and forecast.
4. Working Capital & Cash Flow Impact - analyse and influence working capital outcomes from procurement decisions, including payment terms, inventory levels, order timing, and initiatives to improve DPO and reduce excess stock.
5. Ownership of IT budgeting, forecasting, and cost control across EMEA, including governance of software and enterprise license renewals, optimisation of IT spend (run vs change), and financial oversight of cloud, infrastructure, data, and cybersecurity costs in partnership with IT leadership.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience in FP&A or Finance Business Partnering roles
- Strong background in Procurement Finance (Far East sourcing experience preferred)
- Experience in multi-country, matrix organisations
- Solid understanding of IT cost structures, ERP systems, cloud platforms, and licensing models
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
