Sr Electrical Engineer

The Sr Product Engineer develops a specific product or group of products, meeting marketing, functional and economic goals as the product(s) move from product definition and planning through production and distribution.  Analyzes engineering proposals, interfaces with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing.  Prepares or directs preparation of product layout and detailed drawings and schematics.   Plans and develops experimental test programs, analyzes test data for conformance to functional and performance specifications.  Prepares design modifications as required.  Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.  May direct technicians, drafters and mentor other engineers.



  • Researches/Evaluates new technologies for electricity metering applications.
  • Designs/Implements electronics hardware for electricity metering applications.
  • Designs/Implements experiments to validate the electronics design
  • Technical Support to third parties
  • Supports and adheres to Company’s core values
  • Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required


Level of Education:  A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required as well as a minimum of 5 years of related experience in the engineering/electronics field.


Years of Experience: 5+ to 7 years


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High accuracy data acquisition and processing
  • Electronics Design in embedded applications
  • Computer aided simulation
  • High accuracy instrumentation
  • Best design practices used in designing electronics products targeted to operate in environments exposed to high voltage surges and high voltage/high frequency noise.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and utility practices
  • Excellent listening skills and ability to understand information and ideas presented through spoken words
  • Ability to recognize potential problems and take proactive measures
  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
  • Acute vision to see details at close range
  • Must have proficient multitasking, organizational and time management skills
  • Computer skills that include Microsoft Office software, Schematics capture, PSpice, PCB Layout and Simulator software. 
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently or on a team
