Software Applications Engineer

Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs and modifies computer programs which interface with electrical meters and equipment during meter production. Writes code, programs and performs testing and debugging of

applications using current and legacy programming languages and technologies. Generates and maintains installation and maintenance documentation and procedures. Interfaces with users to define system

requirements and/or requested program modifications.


Primary Statement of Duties

· Software Development- modifies, writes, and tests code.

· Documentation- defines and document system features and modifications

· Support-communicates with L+G, local and remote, personnel to troubleshoot software related issues.

· Works under moderate supervision.

· Supports and adheres to Company’s core values

· Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required


Education and Experience

· A four year degree is required from an accredited university preferably in the field of Computer Programming

· Experience in creating computer applications, and working knowledge of software documentation, utilities, and a variety of programming languages.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Ability to create software using coding skills.

· Relevant development languages include, but are not limited to, C#.

· Technical writing skills

· Computer skills that include Microsoft Office software

· General knowledge of metering

· Excellent listening skills and ability to understand information and ideas presented through spoken words

· Ability to recognize potential problems and take proactive measures

· Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing

· Acute vision to see details at close range

· Must have proficient multitasking, organizational and time management skills

· Excellent relationship-building skills

· Ability to work independently or with others
