Hardware Engineer I

The Hardware (HW) Engineer designs, develops, documents, and tests electronic hardware.   Circuit design involving AC/DC power, serial interface, signal conditioning, level shifting, small signal, power electronics, transient protection, and microcontroller interfaces. Provides direction to Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designers. Selects, evaluates, and qualifies components with inputs from lead engineers. Participate in developing system design specifications including, functional requirements, detailed design specifications, interface specifications, and production test procedures. Designs to industry standard interfaces where applicable. Provides technical direction to technicians. Participates in developing and implementing design verification testing processes and procedures. Contributes to design reviews. Contributes to product and system test efforts. May assume responsibility for exiting product enhancement and maintenance efforts. Updates job skills through seminars, classes, and journals.


Education and Experience:

  • Required Minimum Level of Education- Technical/Trade School
  • Preferred Education – Bachelors Degree in Engineering field


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient use of lab equipment, o-scope, logic analyzers, signal generators, DVMs
  • Proficient with schematic capture tools and circuit simulation (SPICE).
  • Experience with power electronics such as transformers, regulators, switching supplies, filtering highly desirable
  • High voltage design experience highly desirable.
  • Experience in product development and manufacturing processes highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Keyboard/typing skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Supports and adheres to Company’s core values.
