Reporting Controller

Landis+Gyr (Pty) Ltd is part of a global organisation and is engaged in the design, production and distribution of energy metering and energy management products. 

 

This function provides management accounting support to finance department within Landis+Gyr (Pty) Ltd. The responsible person must have knowledge of accounting and Finance, however knowledge of other disciplines SAP R/3 is also required. The responsible person will be required to communicate externally with other reporting controllers within the group and internally with sales staff, finance department, production and executive management.   

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

Prepare month end on SAP R/3 which includes:

⦁    Prepare journals for general ledger posting
⦁    Prepare month end reporting information for key decision makers
⦁    Collate Information needed for reports
⦁    Prepare various reports that are required and requested by the CFO or financial manager

Prepare month end external reporting which includes:

⦁    Input’s for sales and purchasing plan
⦁    Income statements
⦁    Balance sheet
⦁    Headcount
⦁    Functional cost
⦁    Inter-company confirmations 
⦁    Preparing Board meeting papers and presentation packs for executive management.
⦁    Prepare Budgets and forecasts inputs
⦁    Prepare Cash flow statements

Project Management which includes:

⦁    Cost controlling for Research and Development department
⦁    Software and services division administration
⦁    Key projects administration and coordination

Coordinating all SAP special requirements and improvement projects such as:

⦁    Sales forecasting reporting (CO-PA)
⦁    New reporting requirements (CO-PA)
⦁    Master data administration 
⦁    Special projects

Experience

Qualifications:  
⦁    Mimimum: University Degree – Bcom Accounting
⦁    Desired:  Bcom Accounting plus SAIPA or similar professional body member

Professional Experience: 
⦁    Minimum: Experience in Accounting and Finance (5 years)
⦁    Preferred: Experience in Accounting and Finance (5 years); Plus SAP R/3 (4 years customising)

Leadership Experience:
⦁    Manufacturing or Engineering Background

Intercultural Experience:  
⦁    Demonstrated experience of working effectively in a multi-cultural environment
