Senior Security Analyst

Purpose and Objective

The purpose of this role is to lead the handling of escalated security incidents and events, mentor and coach other security analysts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage mitigation of security threats.
This role is also responsible for reporting on the status of security events, continuously reviewing and assessing security tooling and processes, recommending improvements, and driving those improvements through to implementation.

Core Areas of Responsibility / Accountability

  • Collect security information and alerts from security toolsets; assess criticality, record, and triage events

  • Manage security incidents and escalations through triage, remediation, and validation

  • Perform security-based compliance checks

  • Develop executive management reports and dashboards

  • Conduct health checks on security tools and components

  • Coordinate with enterprise-wide cyber defense teams to validate network alerts

  • Document incidents and escalations, including event history, status, and potential business impact

  • Perform event correlation using data from multiple enterprise sources to establish situational awareness and assess attack effectiveness

  • Conduct research, analysis, and correlation across diverse data sets (indications and warnings)

  • Assist in developing and implementing security signatures in response to new or emerging threats

  • Notify designated managers, cyber incident responders, and cybersecurity service providers of suspected cyber incidents in accordance with the incident response plan

  • Monitor external threat intelligence sources (e.g., vendors, CERTs, security forums) to maintain awareness of evolving threats

  • Provide cybersecurity recommendations to leadership based on identified threats and vulnerabilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve security incidents and vulnerability compliance issues

  • Mentor junior security analysts in day-to-day activities

  • Work closely with Security Engineering and IT Infrastructure teams to ensure security gaps and issues are properly addressed

 

Core Technical / Skills Competencies

  • Security incident response processes and methodologies

  • Knowledge of security standards and guidelines

  • Advanced English (mandatory): ability to communicate fluently with global stakeholders, produce documentation and reports, and participate in meetings in English

  • Operating systems: Windows and Unix/Linux

  • Security tools and security operations processes

  • Security log analysis (e.g., Windows, firewalls, antivirus, vulnerability management tools, IPS)

  • Threat and vulnerability assessment with business impact analysis

  • Ability to recommend, implement, or drive remediation actions to completion

  • Coaching and mentoring security analysts

  • Planning and driving improvements in security tooling and overall security posture

  • Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently

 

Experience

  • Experience in networking and security

  • 5+ years of experience in Information Technology

  • 4+ years of experience in IT Security / Information Security

  • Security certifications (GIAC, ISC2/CISSP) preferred but not required

  • Experience securing cloud environments

  • Experience working with SIEM solutions

  • Experience with ServiceNow SecOps module

 

Education / Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field preferred
