Key Purpose of Role
The Senior Endpoint Administrator is a key contributor to, and responsible for the overall management and standardization of Enterprise Desktop systems, End User Compute Environment, and deployment strategies for Windows, Linux, Mac OS systems and corporate mobile devices alongside the support of remediation activities for end user compute vulnerabilities in line with our security management policies.
They will work closely with the Global IT Service Operations teams including Enterprise Desktop alongside Global IT Infrastructure and Security teams to review, develop, and improve Enterprise Desktop requirements, standardization, packaging and deployment strategies, processes, performance, and configuration management utilizing best practice across the Global End User Compute portfolio, whilst ensuring security, compliance and governance is adhered to at a global and regional level.
This role will also represent Client Services in global projects working closely with other teams. The position is responsible for understanding and improving overall End User Compute solutions to ensure a stable and secure environment for the global user base whilst supporting some regionally specific functions, in line with global standards and compliance. They maintain operational excellence and focus on continuous improvement. They will remain current with emerging technologies hardware/software and embrace innovation, continually re-evaluating current processes and deliverables with a focus on service improvement, automation, and cost reduction.
Responsibilities
Endpoint Administration & Technical Operations
- Provide Intune administration and support, including application deployment, patching, and troubleshooting
- Perform implementation, configuration, and maintenance within Windows, Mac, Linux OS and SCCM environments
- Create software packages for physical and virtual desktops (VDI) for automated deployments
- Leverage automation tools (PowerShell, SCCM, Intune, GPOs) to streamline administrative tasks
- Use Windows Update for Business to maintain workstation patch levels
- Create and deploy Intune configurations, policies, and settings
- Manage and maintain Windows 11 baseline configurations
- Support and troubleshoot Windows Autopilot
- Implement security baselines based on Infrastructure and Security team recommendations
- Create reports on device compliance, application deployment, patch management, and software inventory
- Promote PowerShell scripting for automation
- Provide tier three support for desktop OS and application issues
- Maintain standardized system configurations using configuration management frameworks
- Evaluate and package applications for client management tools
- Identify and implement desktop OS and application solutions that enhance security and user experience
- Communicate effectively across teams and stakeholders
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned
Operations
- Define standard hardware requirements to improve performance and reduce costs
- Manage asset lifecycle, including transition plans and end-of-life strategies
- Participate in Change Advisory Boards
- Develop upgrade testing, deployment, and remediation strategies
- Communicate issues and alerts to the business using appropriate channels
- Review and mitigate risks
- Drive automation and deployment strategies using SCCM and Intune
- Monitor deployed systems for safety issues and recalls
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Lead global, regional, and country-level IT projects
- Manage continuous improvement initiatives
- Empower users while ensuring compliance and governance
- Identify opportunities to improve EUC operational effectiveness
- Establish and manage test environments
Documentation & Governance
- Create and maintain documentation
- Follow and improve Landis+Gyr processes, policies, and procedures
Qualifications
- Secondary IT Education or relevant industry experience
- Associate degree in computer science, business administration, electronic engineering or similar
- 5+ years of IT experience in desktop architecture or technical escalation roles
- ITIL Certified – Practitioner preferred
- Microsoft certifications (MCP, A+, Net+ or equivalent experience)
- Exposure to licensing and compliance frameworks
- Experience supporting O365 Cloud-based systems
Technical Competencies
- Expertise in Windows 10/11, Active Directory & Azure AD
- Proficient in Microsoft Intune and SCCM
- Experience with patch and endpoint management tools (e.g., Automox, PatchMyPC)
- Strong PowerShell scripting skills
- Exposure to multi-domain, multi-site networks
- Experience with application packaging for physical and virtual desktops (VDI)
- Familiarity with Windows Autopilot and Windows Update for Business
