Job Summary
 

The Manager, Operational Programs & Systems leads the coordinated execution of contract‑based operational activities and cross‑functional system operations across Middle Market and Managed Services environments. This role ensures high‑quality delivery of AMR/AMI services, field operations, technical support, and data management while driving operational reliability, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.

 

This leader manages onsite personnel, subcontractors, and multiple internal operational teams; oversees system and network configuration; ensures readiness for new product deployments; and maintains strong alignment with customers, procurement, supply chain, and quality functions.

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Customer & Contract Delivery
  • Serve as the primary operational point of contact for assigned customers.
  • Ensure delivery of contractual service levels for AMR/AMI and related managed services.
  • Coordinate customer‑specific system and network configuration requirements.
  • Communicate performance, risks, and operational readiness clearly and proactively.
  • Operational Leadership
  • Lead daily operations across RF Operations, Meter Operations, Technical Support, Data Management, and field teams.
  • Supervise onsite personnel and manage subcontractor performance.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional activities to ensure cohesive execution of field and system operations.
  • Support operational planning, resource allocation, and forecasting.
  • Process, Quality & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop and monitor operational metrics for productivity, service levels, and process effectiveness.
  • Oversee inspection, quality validation, and sample testing of incoming products.
  • Identify and manage risks impacting field performance, system reliability, or customer outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operational workflows.
  • New Product & Deployment Readiness
  • Lead operational integration for new product introductions.
  • Coordinate field deployment planning, process updates, and cross‑team alignment.
  • Ensure operational teams are trained, prepared, and equipped for new offerings.
  • Supply Chain & Logistics Coordination
  • Partner with Procurement and Supply Chain to ensure material availability and supplier performance.
  • Provide oversight for logistics activities as needed, ensuring alignment with operational priorities.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Communications, or related field

 

Experience:

  • 5+ years in project, program, or operational management in utility, telecommunications, manufacturing, or regulated industries.
  • Experience leading multi‑discipline teams and coordinating field + system operations.


 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of AMR/AMI managed service operations, gas/electric metering, RF systems.
  • Electronics manufacturing or lean operations experience.
  • Procurement, inventory management, and supplier coordination.
  • Familiarity with SAP, CRM, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results through others.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet timelines

 

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:


•    Working Conditions: Typical indoor office environment with the majority of time spent sitting and working on a computer using keyboard, mouse, and monitor.  Occasional use of other devices such as: phone, copier/printer/fax, etc. 
 
•    Driving Status:  Ability to travel as needed (up to 50%)
  
•    Physical Requirements: Typical office setting. Required to stand; walk; crouch; or handle objects. Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  Ability to sit and view computer screen for long periods of time. The ability to see, hear, & speak in English. •    Personal Protection Equipment/Other OHSAS-18001 Safety Requirements: Ensure the continued efforts and assist in achieving annual goals of health, safety, and environmental policies. Must be current with available OSHA/Safety Training provided by the Company. If required, must be able to work while wearing safety equipment such as hard hats, work boots, gloves, hearing protection, and others.

Pay is in the range of $100,600 - $127,225 per year.  The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.  All candidates are encouraged to apply.
