Sr Electronics Manufacturing Engineer

Position Summary:

The Sr Electronics Manufacturing Engineer in the Landis+Gyr North American Supply Chain Organization will work with the team responsible for setting and managing the manufacturing standards for Landis+Gyr. This role will include launching new products in Contract Manufacturer (CM) and Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) environments, partner and engage with the product development team by identifying and qualifying advanced manufacturing techniques and spot on Design For Excellence (DFX) feedback.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive the manufacturing plans and process through the life of the product. Coordinate with the Landis+Gyr, NA team to identify and qualify supply chain.         10%
  • Own CM and ODM readiness for pre-production and production builds; schedule, equipment, processes, capacity. Work with the ODMs, CMs and suppliers to drive prioritization and resolution of manufacturing issues. Drive development and qualification of advanced manufacturing processes, packages and techniques. Deploy in volume at Landis+Gyr, NA CM's, ODM's, and suppliers.                                                                                 20%
  • Drive DFx into Landis+Gyr, NA products. Formalize through development of DFx guidelines.                                                                                                                      10%
  • Review with team and track adoption. Partner with the product development team to identify and select technologies and suppliers to meet the requirements of Landis+Gyr, NA new products.                                                                                             10%
  • Drive continuous improvement through the supply chain, resulting in reduced cycle time, increased yields and improved cost. Justify recommendations by quantifying impact in areas such as cycle time, quality and cost.                                                    20%
  • Work with Landis+Gyr, NA partners to implement best practices, tools and techniques and lead the effort to standardize Landis+Gyr, NA manufacturing processes. Leverage partner shop floor control system to enforce routes, manage configurations, validate components and collect data.                                                                                                             20%
  • Create and maintain AVLs, BOMs, and ECNs for all assigned products. Release into Landis+Gyr, NA document control system and ensure communicated throughout Landis+Gyr, NA supply chain and supporting infrastructure.                                                     10%
  • Supports and adheres to Company’s core values.

  • Represents Company in a positive, professional manner when working with both internal and external customers.

 

 

Education & Experience:

Required Minimum Level of Education: Bachelors Degree

Required Minimum Years of Experience: 5-8 years

 

Desired Education/Experience:

Requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering related field, prefer a bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering 

At least five years of Engineer related experience

At least five years of experience participating in problem identification and definition of product designs, four years preferred

At least five years of experience applying engineering fundamentals and calculations to support manufacturing decisions

Prefer at least five years of experience coordinating the work of technical individuals such as Designers, Drafters, Technicians, Specialists, Engineers and/or others who assist on completing specific projects

Requires the ability to travel up to 25% of the time both domestically and internationally

Requires strong verbal and written communication skills

 

Required/Desired Certifications:

Requires the ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport

 

 

Working Conditions:

Driving Status: Will drive on business for the Company more than 6 times per year.

 

Physical Requirements: Typical office setting. Required to stand; walk; crouch; or handle objects. Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  Ability to sit and view computer screen for long periods of time. Personal Protection Equipment/Other OHSAS-18001 Safety Requirements: Ensure the continued efforts and assist in achieving annual goals of health, safety, and environmental policies. Pay is in the range of $73,031 - $112,955 per year.  The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus.  The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.  All candidates are encouraged to apply.
