SQA Engineer III

The role requires proven ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, time sensitive iterative product definition, switch from one task to another and follow the work plan to meet project milestones. This role involves majorly of performance testing (80%) and around 20% functional testing and supporting software/hardware testing activities. Ability to multitask and switch between projects and prioritize effectively. To ensure our applications meet the existing SLAs, resiliency and scalability requirements associated with application delivery. Responsibilities include development and implementation of test strategies and methods, including associated frameworks and tooling, risk assessment, identification and investigation of existing performance issues while working alongside a team of Developers and Architects providing actionable feedback on application implementation. The succesful candidate will be an expert in specifying and selecting the right test cases, to minimize risk of failure in the released product and assure the product meeting customer expectations. The job requires someone who is highly skilled in using different techniques while performing testing tasks related to setting up environment, Maintaining environment,  database, backend processes and front-end applications.   


Key Responsibilities

  • Installing and maintaining scalability environment for a large utility deployment
  • As performance tester, responsible for testing load, scalability / capacity, networks and infrastructure
  • Analyze CTQ’s for customer requirements, Test Cases Design, Test execution, Test Report generatin, Test Environment Configurations/Maintenance, Test Data Setup and implementation of cross-channel features.
  • Expertise in Work Load Design, Defect Management & Configuration Management.
  • Generate Performance graphs, session reports and other related documentation required for validation and analysis., Publish results. Prepare detail status reports, and monitoring of all defects and issues.
  • Examine and evaluate performance criteria and standards compliance to ensure that new and amended systems, together with any interfaces, perform as specified.
  • Identifying memory leakage, connection issues & bottlenecks in all Layers i.e. Server, Network, DB, Application etc.
  • Utilize performance and monitoring tools, analyzing results, resolving performance related issues, including optimization and tuning.
  • Work with the development teams to help design scalable, robust systems with focus on cloud architecture. Be proficient in one or more cloud providers.
  • Work closely with development and architects in troubleshooting environmental issues and for root cause analysis.
  • Ensure a high degree of availability across the application landscape.
  • Identify the quality KPI’s and ensure the compliance at each stage.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field and 5-10  years of Performance test experience or master’s degree in related field and  5+ years of engineering experience required
  • Experience working with the full software development life cycle
  • Experience with Agile Methodology
  • Experience with one or more cloud providers
  • Experience in workload design, defect management, and configuration management
  • Experience testing web services for functionality, load, and scalability
  • Experience testing HTML5 based user interfaces
  • Experience working with Oracle SQL Developer and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
  • Experience with DDL and DML statements in Oracle and SQL Server
  • Experience identifying memory leakage, connection issues & bottlenecks in all Layers i.e. Server, Network, DB, Application etc. Experience working with advanced security
  • Experience working with SSL certs
  • Windows Server experience (Event Viewer, MSMQ, IIS, etc.)

Desired Experience

  • Experience in meters, RF devices, IoT devices, RF, Wi-Fi and wireless devices (Metering domain)
  • Experience with API testing
  • Experience in writing scripts in any scripting language preferably in python/java/perl.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix set up and configuration  
  • Experience with ANSI, ABNT and DLMS protocols  
  • Experience working with Kafka  
  • Experience with GCP  
  • Experience with Robot Framework with Python
  • Experience working with global teams(different time zones)


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Utilize performance and monitoring tools, analyzing results, resolving performance related issues, including optimization and tuning.
  • Proficient in one or more cloud providers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
