Landis+ Gyr is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Project Manager to lead AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) system deployments. Candidates must have a through understanding of all stages of customer delivery project management and have demonstrable experience executing multiple complex projects to ensure that contractual deliverables are completed and accepted. The Project Manager is the primary point of contact for our customers. This position will lead deployment of either one to two large, or multiple small to midsize AMI projects and is accountable for flawless execution of projects to meet the contracted equipment, technical and services requirements. This includes management of project schedule, technical resources, risks & issues, financial performance, communications, and internal & customer status reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
This individual will be working on-site for our client in Boston, MA, so they should live in the Boston area within driving distance. We will also consider candidates living by our headquarters in the Alpharetta, GA area to work on-site at our Alpharetta, GA office and travel to Boston up to 50% or as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to members of the project team.
• Act as the face of Landis+ Gyr to our customers and develop a trusted and collaborative partnership with the customer and project team.
• Conduct periodic performance reviews of project team and provide feedback
• Understand contract administration and manage all contractual obligations, performance levels, and service levels.
• Initiate, plan and execute, control, and ensure final customer acceptance of assigned projects.
• Coordinate the activities of the team and indirect support resources to produce deliverables agreed upon with executive, program offices and/or functional management.
• Personally manage several customer projects
• Drive Issues to resolution Independently or via other company resources and manage customer expectations appropriately.
• Responsible for reporting financial health of projects; budgeting & forecasting
• Manage a projects scope, schedule, and cost while managing risk
• Ensure all Internal stakeholders (Finance, Sales, Operations, Product Management, Executive management) are apprised of status, KPIs, issues, and risks.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Thorough knowledge of PMI methodology and standards and can adhere to company PM procedures and tools/ templates/ systems.
• Strong experience with typical project management tools to ensure assigned projects remain on schedule, on budget, and within scope.
• Solid understanding and experience working with utilities.
• Ability to work within a matrix organization and lead resources that may or may not be dedicated to the project(s).
• Ability to use influence to ensure indirect resources support the assigned project(s) when required.
• Ability to think and react quickly with a large degree of accuracy, confidence and focus on customer satisfaction.
• Strong leadership qualities and the ability to make solid decisions confidently and without perfect information.
• Experience deploying technical, complex solutions to customers.
• Strong contract management skills and can manage scope and identify issues requiring documented contract change orders
• Understands how to control projects via effective KPI's and risk management
• Possesses P&L and financial knowledge and ability to forecast revenues and expenses
• Strong ability to resolve conflicts and diffuse tense situations with customers
• Possesses strong organizational skills and hard work, ensuring all aspects of a project are properly managed and moving toward resolution.
• Ability to accept change and respond to setbacks with minimal disruptions.
• Strong understanding of product development methodologies (Waterfall & Agile)

Education and Experience:
• Level of Education: Minimum 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in relevant area of focus, engineering or information systems preferred, MBA or other advanced degree preferred
• PMP Certification Preferred; minimum expectation is that candidate will become PMP certified within 6 months; L+G will reimburse training and certification expenses for employees.
• 5-7 years’ experience in technology or project management field, including 3+ years of experience in leading or participating in projects consisting of multi-disciplined project teams
• 3+ years’ experience in Utility information systems, advanced metering infrastructure systems, power plant or industrial control systems, information technology systems, or strongly related area
• Electric Utility Automated Meter Infrastructure (AMR/AMI) is preferred

• Working Conditions: Typical indoor office environment with the majority of time spent sitting and working on a computer using keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Occasional use of other devices such as phone, copier/printer/fax, etc.
• Driving Status: Driving required, must possess driver's license
• Physical Requirements: Typical office setting. Required to stand; walk; crouch; or handle objects. Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Ability to sit and view computer screen for long periods of time. The ability to see, hear, & speak in English. • Personal Protection Equipment/Other OHSAS-18001 Safety Requirements: Ensure the continued efforts and assist in achieving annual goals of health, safety, and environmental policies. Must be current with available OSHA/Safety Training provided by the Company. If required, you must be able to work while wearing safety equipment such as hard hats, work boots, gloves, hearing protection, and others.

Pay is in the range of $85,490 - $121,393 per year. The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
