Manager, Group Procurement Strategic Sourcing

Responsible for development and implementation of strategic path around indirect materials and services in coordination with the North American and Group Procurement organizations - this includes supplier selection and management, supplier negotiation, stake holder management, indirect material process controls, budget and cost down tracking.  

 

Expected Travel: Up to 25%

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic recommendations for all key indirect material subcategories based on North American requirements and Global Group Procurement directives.
  • Supplier identification, selection and management based upon alignment with departments, timeliness and costing goals set by the organization.
  • Achieves cost reduction goals as set by the Director, Strategic Sourcing. Using strategic path, identifies cost negotiation opportunities and cost down approaches for each key supplier/material subcategory.
  • Reporting of Indirect Material status around strategy, market conditions, risk mitigation plans, cost reduction results and additional opportunities.
  • Support ongoing requirements for indirect purchases and services opportunities as raised throughout the year by the organization.
  • Frequent communication with key external suppliers and internal communication to all levels of the organization required.
  • Resolves indirect material purchasing issues escalated by the materials management group, Finance and other departments.
  • Send out RFPs for various projects. Do assessment & comparison analysis of proposals. Present findings to the business. Negotiate according to corporate guidelines.
  • Management of the purchasing process for indirect goods and services as well as all related policies & procedures.
  • Product / Software / Embedded SW (FW) / Device Quality Management
  • Supports and adheres to Company’s core values.
  • Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required.
  • Supports and adheres to Company’s Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy.
  • Represents Company in a positive, professional manner when working with both internal and external customers.

 

Education and Experience
Leadership experience:

  • 7+ years’ experience in a leadership role.
  • 5+ years’ experience in managing indirect material purchases including logistics, professional services and non-production related material and services is a must.  
  • Experience in influencing internal stakeholders and providing procurement process advice.  
  • Intercultural experience:
  • Experience working within multicultural Groups and Methodologies internationally.

 

Required Minimum Level of Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Minimum Years of Experience: 7+ to 10

 

Desired Education/Experience
BS/MS Degree in engineering or related discipline.
A combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for interaction with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to plan strategically over a 1-2-year time span.

  • Must have the ability to understand legal and risk development.  
  • Knowledge of reading, understanding and editing of contracts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office package.
  • Experience in an e-sourcing environment and SAP preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and capability of managing multiple projects
