Job Summary
The Software Manager is responsible for managing all activities of the teams working on Solutions Software development.
The profile will collaborate with the stakeholders in the Solutions Software project execution team to plan, execute and deliver software and solutions to meet customer requirements.
The role calls for recruiting, mentoring, and coaching Software Development and Quality Engineers working on a variety of technologies, including but not limited to Java/J2EE, .Net,
Open-source frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, Messaging frameworks such as ActiveMQ, Kafka, Cloud/Microservices, Oracle, Postgres and other data platforms.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage Software Development teams.
• Recruit, train, develop, and retain top talent.
• Manage Software development projects for Solutions Software such as Meter Data Management systems, and other advanced applications.
• Perform resource planning for Software releases in collaboration with other Software Managers on Americas Software team.
• Collaborate with Solutions Architect, Product Owners, Product Managers and Project Managers to deliver high quality software and solutions.
• Follow Agile processes to implement and deliver software releases.
• Manage continuous improvement of the software team and processes.
• Collaborate with other Software Managers and other teams in the Americas Technologies organization to review and revise software development process to continuously improve team’s velocity.
• Work with Technical Development Leads, Software Quality Leads and Software Architects throughout the Americas Technology organization in software development and testing to implement best practices, including static code analysis with tools like SonarQube, unit testing and test automation.
• Collaborate with GDC and Brazil teams on workload sharing escalations.
• Implement mechanisms to monitor, manage and provide progress on software team’s velocity.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Experience with products and services delivery technologies
• Experience of successfully designing and developing sophisticated software products deployed in a variety of environments.
• Should be an Agile champion.
• Familiar with more than one software development methodology
• An understanding of databases (including relational databases)
• Experience in handling of large-scale enterprise software systems
• Experience with enterprise software applications, networking and network management systems, security technologies, back-office integration and SOA/enterprise service bus, and SaaS a strong plus
• Proficient in one or more Enterprise software programming languages (Java/J2EE, PLSQL, Python, .Net, C#)
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Accountabilities
• Motivate, mentor, and coach team members.
• Work effectively with Managers/teams across regions, collaborate with Product Managers and Product Owners to ensure delivery against agreed priorities.
• Accountable for the on-time and to quality delivery of software projects
• Create, implement, and maintain a continuous improvement plan for software development teams.
• Work closely with the Product Managers with the aim of meeting current and future business needs
• Continuously align the skills and experience of the team with technology roadmap and business needs
Education and Experience
• BS or MS in CS
• 12+ years overall industry experience
• 8+ years of experience in software product companies
• Strong background in software architectures, and Java/J2EE or .Net & open-source technology stack
• 2+ years of experience with Agile methodology
• Experience in Technical Leadership of a Software Development team is a plus.
• Experience In Google cloud platform Is a plus
• Experience in managing software development/delivery teams is required.

Pay is in the range of $108,100 - $169,024 per year. The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
