Quality Environmental Healh & Safety Facilitator I

Position Summary


Responsible for environmental, health and safety compliance for site facility.  This includes the coordination and management of company policies and documents adhering to local, state, and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.  Manage and coordinate the operation of document control system to ensure functionality meets the EHS regulations and ISO requirements.  Responsible for maintenance of the quality and environmental health and safety management systems for assigned location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in internal and external communication to identify, communicate, and implement EHS best practices and management approaches.
  • Maintain records required for reporting, respond to agency requests, and verify compliance with EHS requirements.
  • Ensure proper follow up and resolution of all concerns identified through assessments, inspections, monitoring activities or other means to support operational excellence.
  • Participate in the facility incident investigation process to ensure incidents are reported in a timely manner, root causes are identified, and corrective actions are tracked through closure.
  • Facilitate and conduct effective and timely EHS training to all facility employees, temporary workers, contractors, and visitors to promote a strong EHS culture.
  • Maintain Job Risk Assessments and environmental impact assessments.
  • Represent facility during agency regulatory and third party inspections or audits.
  • Coordinate communications with local emergency response functions: hospitals, police, fire, LEPC, contracted responders, etc.
  • Participate in onsite safety/environmental team.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience

  • College degree in quality and/or environmental, health and safety-related discipline or 2 years minimum as a quality and/or environmental, health and safety coordinator. 
  • Experience in maintaining quality (QMS) and the environmental, health and safety (EHS) management systems helpful.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Possess excellent time-management skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to work with internal and external clients, including management team.
