Firmware Engineer II

Job Summary:

The Firmware Engineer analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies firmware.  Troubleshoots code for firmware (embedded code) applications.  Work often involves analog / digital hardware and software operating systems.  Typically programs in C and other high level languages.


Primary Duties:

  • Tests Wireless Communication devices using code debugging
  • Creates/Modifies firmware per requirements
  • Design Wireless Communication Device firmware features and functionalities
  • Support and Adheres to Company's core values.
  • Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required.
  • Support and adheres to Company's Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy.
  • Represents Company in a positive, professional manner when working with both internal and external customers.


Education and Experience:

Required Min Level Of Education: Bachelors Degree
Required Min years of Experience: 2+ to 5 years


Desired Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the field of Computer Science or Engineering
  • 2 years of experience in programming computer applications, and working knowledge of software documentation, hardware design, utilities, C and high level languages or equivalent. 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to debug code
  • Ability to understand all levels of code
  • Computer skills including C Programming, debugging, scripting programming languages, various software packages such as revision control and issue tracking and Microsoft Office familiarity.
  • Basic Wireless Communication and Network Protocols knowledge
  • Use of emulators, oscilloscopes, and various other testing equipment
  • Ability to work independently or on a team
  • Excellent listening skills and ability to understand information and ideas presented through spoken words including technical data.
  • Ability to recognize potential problems and take proactive measures
  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
  • Acute vision to see details at close range. Must have proficient multitasking, organizational and time management skills.
