The Director of Canadian Market Development - Canada is accountable for building account relationships and generating contractual sales volume with key IOU and municipal accounts within the assigned sales region. Responsibilities include developing account specific plans and strategies for engaging accounts with L+G’s technology, product and service offerings. This position works cross-functionally and with key internal stakeholders (Solutions team, product management, Comm Ops, Finance, Deals Desk, Regulatory and program management etc.) as well as external vendor partners to coordinate and leverage the full capabilities of Landis+Gyr at the account.

 

The Director of Canadian Market Development – Canada develops and maintains a high level of product and product application knowledge in the various areas of our business.  This position also interfaces with provincial regulatory agencies and is engaged in industry organizations and Measurement Canada. Conducts sales calls designed to increase product placement. Participates in meetings as assigned and keeps Senior Management well informed of market activities and challenges. Makes recommendations to management regarding products, pricing and sales projections.

 

Expected Travel: Up to 75%

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Plan development and sales strategy for each account opportunity in assigned area.
  • CRM reporting and pipeline funnel management.
  • Presenting Landis+Gyr solutions and services.
  • Leading RFP and RFQ response and working cross-functionally within Landis+Gyr to respond and win.
  • Grow market share and increase sales at existing and prospective accounts.
  • Engaging and educating regulatory and Industry influencers / industry trade organizations.
  • Developing account relationships (C Suite to field level) and identifying and supporting key customer business objectives and use cases.
  • Supports and adheres to Company’s core values.
  • Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required.
  • Supports and adheres to Company’s Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy.
  • Represents Company in a positive, professional manner when working with both internal and external customers.

 

Education & Experience
Required Minimum Level of Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Minimum Years of Experience: 7+ to 10

 

Desired Education/Experience: University degree, previous industry knowledge / relationships and demonstrated utility end user sales performance.  Effective presentation and grammatical / oral communications skills.  Experience utilizing / managing CRM or equivalent sales force platform.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Effective presentation and grammatical / oral communications skills.
  • Experience utilizing / managing CRM or equivalent sales force platform.
  • Ability to problem solve and become trusted advisor for customer solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft power point, Excel and Word.
  • Ability to use virtual tools and remote communication platforms like MS Teams or WebEx type tools.
  • Bias for action and ability to motivate internal and external stakeholders without direct reporting control.

 

The main focus area for this position is for the Toronto, Canada area rather than our Quebec Office
