Job Summary
The Commercial Manager will be responsible to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define and drive the commercial strategy, profitability and customer responses for assigned deals. This role is responsible for leading the demand to order (DTO) process and providing high quality proposals/quotes to our customer base. In this role, you will spearhead the overall deal formulation including project management, risk compliance per defined policies, financial health, response management, contracting, negotiations and internal handoffs with accountability for meeting quality, process compliance and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide competitive quotes built on winning pricing strategies and equitable terms & conditions.
• Lead the transactional deal process (DTO) having the ability to structure creative win-win solutions
• Spearhead the deal reviews to ensure that all risks, mitigation strategies and business approvals are properly secured and reflected in the scope, schedule, financials and overall quote/response
• Interface with the Region Sales teams to develop commercial strategies and solutions that will meet/exceed customer requirements and business goals & objectives
• Support the deal team during negotiations to ensure successful closure
• Own a clean and comprehensive handoff to the execution/deployment team
• Develop, in conjunction with legal, appropriate terms & conditions and contracts
• Supports and adheres to Company’s core values.
• Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required.
• Supports and adheres to Company’s Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy.
• Represents Company in a positive, professional manner when working with both internal and external customers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong commercial experience with the ability to structure creative deals for customer solutions, negotiate contracts, and deal effectively with customers
• Experience in sales, commercial finance, contract negotiation, risk and/or project management
• Excellent written and analytical skills
• Industry knowledge/competitive landscape understanding is preferred
• Good working knowledge of legal aspects and contracting requirements
• General understanding of utilities and specific knowledge concerning utility distribution systems
• Must have proficient multitasking, project and time management skills
• Computer skills that include Microsoft Office
• Ability to influence others
• A highly collaborative team player that can be assertive when need be
• Be very detail oriented without complicating matters
• A strategic and clear thinker able to translate complex matters to simple solutions
• Superior executive presence with effective communication skills

Accountabilities:
• Own opportunities from the initial customer request to contract closure.
• Be the focal point of broad cross functional team while coordinating all inputs and outcomes to maximize customer value and meet business goals
• Manage workload with accountability for business KPIs - order budgets, proposal timeliness, cycle time, hit rate/win rate, risk compliance and project profitability
• Strong commercial experience with the ability to structure creative deals for customer solutions, negotiate contracts, and deal effectively with customers
• Decisions have moderate effect on business
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree
• MBA Is a plus
• 5 - 7 + years of experience required
• A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements/Safety/PPE/OHSAS:
• Working Conditions: Typical indoor office environment with the majority of time spent sitting and working on a computer using keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Occasional use of other devices such as: phone, copier/printer/fax, etc.
• Physical Requirements: Typical office setting. Required to stand; walk; crouch; or handle objects. Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Ability to sit and view computer screen for long periods of time. The ability to see, hear, & speak in English. • Personal Protection Equipment/Other OHSAS-18001 Safety Requirements: Ensure the continued efforts and assist in achieving annual goals of health, safety, and environmental policies. If required, must be able to work while wearing safety equipment such as hard hats, work boats, gloves, hearing protection, and others.

Pay is in the range of $85,490 - $121,393 per year. The position is eligible for a 401(k) match and consideration for an annual bonus. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
